Repeat Offender Caught In The Act In Hensall – Hero Homeowner Chases Repeat Offender – Nicholas HALLEY Arrested

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 28-year-old remains in custody following an incident that took place in Hensall this past weekend.

On Saturday, September 30th, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a King Street property in Hensall to investigate a break and enter in progress. Upon arrival police learned the property owner interrupted the thief and chased the male suspect off of his property. With the assistance of the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine, OPP officers conducted a search for the male suspect.

Officers were successful in tracking the male to a nearby apartment building whereupon they arrested and took the male into custody. During the arrest the male resisted arrest and he also obstructed the officers by providing a false name.

Nicholas HALLEY, 28 years of age, of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of Break, Enter and Theft, Resist Peace Officer, Obstruct Peace Officer and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 5, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
