(CALEDON, ON) – On Monday, September 5, 2016 an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar enforcement on Airport Road in the Town of Caledon. The officer observed a grey coloured Honda, travelling at a high rate of speed. Subsequently, the officers conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the female driver, the officer immediately detected a strong odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath.
As a result of the traffic stop, Rebecca Marietta, KENT-CHIASSON, 25, from Georgetown was charged with the following offences:
Adult Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.
Adult Race a Motor Vehicle.
The 90 day Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and her motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to make her first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on September 15, 2016.
