(OXFORD COUNTY, ON.) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a recent rash of attempts and thefts of vehicles which occurred on December 15, 2015.
The incidents occurred between 2:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and it appears the thieves were targeting SUV’s and pickup trucks.
There were three attempted thefts of vehicles which occurred in parking lots on Library Lane in Tillsonburg, the Norfolk Mall and Rehoboth Christian School in Norwich Township. There were also two vehicles stolen from parking lots in Tillsonburg located on Lincoln Street and the municipal parking lot at Ridout and Harvey Street in Tillsonburg.
The outstanding stolen vehicles are as follows:
2002 Cadillac Escalade, grey in colour, Licence #BEDF678
2003 Chevy Trailblazer, blue in colour, Licence #BNLA055
A 2002 GMC Denali was also recovered on Lincoln Street which had been reported stolen from Waterloo Region. The recovered stolen vehicle was towed and held for police examination.
Police are continuing to investigate and are reminding the public to be diligent in reporting suspicious vehicles or people, and to call police immediately with a description and a last known direction of travel.
