POLICE STOP STOLEN VEHICLE – ONE MALE CHARGED

(CITY OF LONDON, ON) – A male has been remanded into custody following a traffic stop involving a stolen vehicle on Highway 401 by Wellington Road in the City of London.

On September 27, 2014 at approximately 3:34 p.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West Region Highway Enforcement Team (HET) observed a vehicle earlier reported as stolen from Belleville Police Service. Further information was received by Chatham-Kent Police Service that the same vehicle was involved in a theft of gas.

The vehicle was stopped without incident. As a result of the investigation, police charged the driver, Ryan HENNESSY, age 20 of no fixed address with the following:

One count of Theft Over $5000
One count of Theft Under $5000
One count of Possession of Property Obtained By Crime – Over $5000
One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was remanded into custody and is to appear at a later date to speak to the charges.
