(KENORA, ON) – The Treaty Three Police Service, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North West Region Crime Unit is continuing their investigating into an assault on the First Nation Territory of Wabaseemoong (Whitedog). Treaty Three Police received a report that a male had been assaulted with a weapon on Wednesday February 19, 2014 at around 2:00 am. The male victim was transported to Lake of the Woods District Hospital by ambulance with life threatening injuries.
The 54 year old male victim has been upgraded to stable condition and remains in hospital.
As a result of this investigation, 27 year old Russell MUCKLE of Wabaseemong has been charged with Aggravated Assault contrary to the Criminal Code. He has been held in custody and will appear in court on February 21, 2014 to answer to the charge.
