(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a theft from a Union Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at approximately 11:44 a.m., police were called to St Mary’s Parish after a theft was reported from a donation box.
Through investigation it has been determined that a custodian of the church was approached by an unknown male seeking assistance which was subsequently provided. A short time later the same male was observed inside the church forcibly entering a donation box and removing a quantity of Canadian currency.
Then male suspect then fled from the church through an exit door in an unknown direction.
The suspect is being described as a white male, medium build, short dark hair, clean shaven, wearing a black and white spotted pullover with a yellow shirt underneath.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
“The OPP continue to appeal to all residents to report any and all suspicious activity to police when it happens and are urging everyone to contact police immediately,†comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
