(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating an act of mischief at a Norfolk County Road 21, North Walsingham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
Between Friday, July 11, 2014 and Saturday, July 12, 2014, unknowns attended the address and proceeded to drive an off road vehicle through several ginseng fields.
Through investigation it appears that the off road vehicle was a dirt bike. The unknown operator drove through the fields attempting to jumps rows of ginseng causing extensive damage.
Damage is estimated at approximately $5,000 dollars however that figure may change once all the fields are inspected.
The Norfolk County OPP Detachment is continuing to investigate and is seeking the public’s assistance. If anyone has any information they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
The OPP want to remind all residents that if they see anything suspicious to please contact the police. If anyone is found committing acts of mischief, appropriate charges will be laid.
