(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Saturday April 23, 2011 at approximately 2:30 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a vehicle depart from a car dealership on the north end of Listowel. The officer pulled over the vehicle and while speaking to the driver and passenger observed 8 new tires and rims behind the driver and passenger seats.
A check of the lot determined that two brand new vehicles had tires and rims removed. The driver, a 29 year old male from New Hamburg and the 21 year old female passenger from Elmira were arrested for two counts of “Theft over $5,000 from a motor vehicle†and two counts of “Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000â€. They have been released on a Promise to Appear and will answer to these charges on June 08, 2011 in Listowel Provincial Court.
