(PERTH COUNTY, ON) The eleven day Spring Seat Belt Campaign results are in for Perth County. Officers within The County checked a total of 12,135 vehicles and issued 77 provincial offence notices for seat belt violations.
Perth County Staff Sergeant Joel Skelding said “The number of vehicles checked during this campaign in Perth County was lower than last year however our officers still charged 77 violators. This number is just too high taking into account that the seatbelt legislation has been around for 35 years and that in modern motor vehicles seat belts are such a vital safety componentâ€.
The Perth County OPP will continue to enforce the seat belt legislation throughout the year since “every day is seat belt dayâ€.
