(BURLINGTON, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Halton Police Service – Internet Child Exploitation Unit have arrested and charged a Gravenhurst man following a two month internet luring investigation.
On August 6, 2014, Jeffrey DRURY age 53 years of Gravenhurst, attended at a local Burlington establishment where he thought he was to meet with a 15 year old girl. Instead, he was met by plainclothes officers and subsequently arrested without incident.
He has been charged with two counts of Luring a Child on the Internet and two counts of Sending Sexually Explicit Material to a Person Under 16 Years of Age.
Also on August 6, 2014, members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, the Technical Crime Unit and Bracebridge OPP executed a search warrant at a Gravenhurst residence. As a result of this investigation, two computer devices and other items pertinent to the investigation were seized and are pending forensic analysis.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today, August 7, 2014, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Milton, Ontario.
The investigation is continuing.
