(Orillia, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Orillia OPP Detachment have charged an Orillia man following an on-line undercover investigation.
On May 12, 2015 members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit commenced on-line child pornography investigation. A suspect was identified communicating with an undercover officer posing as a young person. The suspect communicated to the officer for the purposes of having sex.
On May 12, 2015 a co-ordinated effort by police from the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and Orillia OPP resulted in the suspect being located at his workplace in Orillia Ontario. The accused was subsequently arrested by police. As a result of this investigation, one cellular device was seized and is pending forensic analysis.
Alexander Edward KNIGHT, age 39 years, of Orillia Ontario is charged with two counts of Internet Luring contrary to the criminal code of Canada.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing today, May 13, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie, Ontario.
The investigation is continuing.
