(CHAMPLAIN, ON) – On Sunday evening, June 10th, at approximately 9:30pm, Hawkesbury OPP officer Raoul Doucet was responding to a dispatched call when he intercepted a 2008 grey Ford van on Highway 34 near Borris Road in Champlain Township.
Interaction with the male driver gave the officer reason to believe that he had operated his motor vehicle with blood alcohol content over 80 mgs.
Consequently, the driver, Gilles PAQUETTE (65 yrs) of the Nation Municipality, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following section:
– 253(1)(b) Care or Control Over 80 mgs.
The vehicle was seized for 7 days and the driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days.
He was later released and scheduled to appear at court on July 27th, 2016 in L’Orignal.
