(ORILLIA, ON.) – Over the past weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 164 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.
There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, motor vehicle collisions, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, Drug Possession and Impaired drivers.
On August 22, 2015 at approximately 1:40 a.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a noise complaint on Karen Crescent in the City of Orillia. When officers arrived on scene they were advised by witnesses that a vehicle had just left the residence with an intoxicated driver. Officers located the vehicle on Esther Anne Drive and the male driver was arrested.
Terry BIRD, 54 years old of Fergus, has been charged with Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired and Care or Control over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on September 8, 2015.
On August 23, 2015 at approximately 9:47 a.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a possible impaired driver at a gas station in Coldwater. Officers located the vehicle on Lower Big Chute Road and the male driver was arrested at the scene.
Ralph VIVIAN, 46 years old of North York, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on September 15, 2015.
On August 23, 2015 at approximately 8:28 p.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Highway 12 in the City of Orillia. Officers stopped the vehicle at Highway 12 and Atherley Road and the male driver was arrested.
Herbert RICHARDSON, 80 years old of Pictou Nova Scotia, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 24, 2015.
