Orillia OPP Weekend Update

(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 119 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.

There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, assaults, mischief complaints, motor vehicle collisions, break and enters and impaired drivers.

On June 10, 2016 at approximately 10:32 p.m., officers from the Orillia OPP were dispatched to an alarm at the former Orillia Secondary School on Borland Street in the City Orillia. Officers attended the location and arrested two males coming out of the building. The 15 year old males from Orillia were released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Youth Court on July 6, 2016.

On June 12, 2016 at approximately 9:54 p.m., officers from the Orillia OPP were dispatched to a possible impaired driver in a parking lot at the corner of Mississaga Street East and Front Street in the City of Orillia. Officers attended and arrested the female driver.

Deborah JOHNSTON, 59 years old of Severn Township, has been charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired and Care and Control Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. She was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on June 28, 2016.
