ORANGEVILLE MALE CHARGED WITH DANGEROUS DRIVING AND ASSAULT

(CALEDON, ON) – On October 7th, 2014 officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate a complaint of an assault at a Highway 10 gas station. The investigation revealed that the suspect had parked his vehicle in a handicapped parking spot while he entered the store. A customer at the gas station was upset over the misuse of the parking spot and began taking photos of the vehicle. The suspect exited the store, exchanged words with the patron and reversed out of the parking spot striking the victim in the mid-thigh area with the rear of his motor vehicle. The suspect left the scene and was located by officers at Highway 10 and Mayfield Road. The victim did not require medical attention for his injuries.

Tyler Daniel IRONMONGER, 25, from Orangeville was arrested and charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Assault with a Weapon.

The male was released and is scheduled to make a first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on November 20, 2014.
