(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On October 9, 2014 the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar enforcement on Highway 69 in the Township of Archipelago. At approximately 11:46 p.m., a northbound green Plymouth was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and subsequently a traffic stop was conducted. As a result of police investigation, Hydromorph Contin capsules and Cannabis Marihuana was seized.
Driver, Everaly FORD, 34 years of age from Brampton, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:
Four (4) traffic offences including: Driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario (HTA)
Two (2) drug offences including: Possession of a Schedule I Substance – other drugs as per the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA).
Passenger, Christine MATHISON, 24 years of age from Sudbury, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Two (2) drug charges including Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA).
The two accused were released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on November 20, 2014.
