COLLISION INVOLVING OPP CRUISER Officer Charged

(NORTH BAY, ON) – Members of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 17, Beaucage Township on October 8, 2014.

Investigation revealed that a fully marked cruiser was parked on the westbound shoulder of the highway and proceeded to enter the westbound lane colliding with a westbound vehicle, Nissan Rogue. The driver and passenger of the Nissan as well as the officer were transported to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

Members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) assisted with the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Provincial Constable Robin CAMIRAND, an eight year member of the North Bay OPP Detachment was issued a Provincial Offences Notice for the offence of Start from Stopped Position-Not in Safety, contrary to Section 142(2) of the Highway Traffic Act.
