(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) -The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to say Thank You!
Over this past weekend officers set up numerous RIDE check programs, checking hundreds of vehicles with no impaired driving related offences. Detachment commander, Inspector Rob Shaw indicated that this was a great start to the holiday RIDE campaign and urges motorists to maintain their vigilance.
“Road safety is a shared responsibility. Our officers will be out with increased RIDE programs but the onus is on the motoring public to make good choices – have a designated driver, call a cab or stay overnightâ€Â, stated Inspector Shaw.
The Festive RIDE program will be in effect until January 2, 2014.
