(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) -In the spirit of the season the local OPP detachment has reached out to the community through the Adopt-a- Family program.
The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) worked with local community services to provide five families with some assistance this holiday season. Each family will receive a care package that includes gifts for the children, new toiletry items and a food hamper that includes a Christmas dinner.
Staff Sergeant David Bowles stated, “We not only work in this community but many of us live here as well. It is great to be able to help out to ensure that our community members enjoy this holiday seasonâ€Â.
