(OHSWEKEN, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Investigations and Enforcement Bureau attached to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) were called to investigate incidents of fraud pertaining to lottery tickets purchased at a convenience store in Ohsweken. The investigation was referred to the OPP by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
The investigation was in relation to the accused purchasing and validating lottery tickets at the Red Indian Mini Mart in Ohsweken, where she was employed.
On October 1, 2013, the OPP arrested and charged MaryAnne ANDERSON, 52 years-old of Brantford, Ontario with 13 counts of Fraud Under $5,000.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with an Officer in Charge Undertaking and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on November 15, 2013.
Effective January 1, 2008, the OPP Bureau at the AGCO was assigned responsibility to investigate insider wins by persons regulated by the AGCO and suspicious wins for lotteries conducted and managed by the OLG.
