(NAPANEE, ON) – On July 29, 2014 at approximately 3:40pm, officers of the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious crash on Highway 401, westbound, west of Exit 566 (Shannonville).
A Pontiac Montana minivan collided into the rear of an SUV causing the SUV to collide with the rear of a Tractor Trailer.
The driver of the van, David Allan MAXWELL, 51 of Truro, Nova Scotia died at scene. His 2 passengers were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with moderate injuries and the tractor trailer driver was not injured.
The OPP encourage all drivers to drive to traffic conditions. Being alert while traveling any distance is a must.
