(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) On Friday, September 27, 2013 at 8:50pm officers with the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident which occurred at a residence on Valley Road in Emily Township.
Responding officers discovered the body of a female at the residence.
The investigation is continuing under the direction of Detective Inspector Jim Smyth of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), assisted by Detectives from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Major Crime Unit.
A post-mortem to determine the cause of death has been scheduled for later today in Kingston.
The OPP is asking anyone who observed any type of unusual activity in the area of Valley Rd in the past few days to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
