A 33 year-old Hanover woman was injured following a collision involving a car and a motorcycle Saturday afternoon.
Around 4:30 PM the Owen Sound Police Service, Owen Sound Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services were called to the crash which occurred in the 1500 block of 9th Avenue East.
The Hanover woman had been operating a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle. She had just turned left to go southbound on 9th Avenue East when she was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu that was exiting the parking lot of a convenience store.
The motorcyclist suffered a fractured leg in the crash. She was taken to the Grey Bruce Health Services by ambulance. The driver of the Malibu, a 24 year-old Owen Sound woman, was also taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.
The roadway was closed for approximately an hour while police investigated the collision.
The driver of the Malibu has been charged with failing to yield under the Highway Traffic Act.
