OPP Investigate Weapons Call

(Essa Township)- On March 16, 2015 at 9:57pm, the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a weapons call on Gold Park Gate in the Township of Essa.

The incident began when a homeowner on Gold Park Gate believed two male youths were trespassing on his property and approached these youth in his neighbourhood. One of the youths turned and pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the homeowner and continued running westbound along Gold Park Gate into a newer portion of the development. The homeowner immediately called the OPP.

Nottawasaga OPP set up containment of the area activating the K-9 team and utilizing members of the Emergency Response Team conducting an extensive search but the suspects were not located.

Information was received from a witness that youths were observed earlier in the area playing with airsoft guns. The Nottawasaga OPP would like to speak to those youths, or anyone that saw them, to clear up the matter as it may not be a criminal investigation.

The two youths are described as follows:

Male, white, 6′, thin, black hair, black hoodie, black jeans, black hi top shoes

Male, white, 5’8, heavier build, light brown hair, dark brown hoodie, blue jeans.
