At approximately 11:40am the Owen Sound Police responded to a residence in the 1000 block of 15th Street ‘B’ East, Owen Sound with regards to a Break and Enter that had just occurred. It appears a lone male had approached the residence first knocking on the front door, when no one answered this male smashed the small door window and reaching in was able to unlock the door. What this intruder did not know was there was an individual inside the residence who had been asleep in a bedroom and woke up to the knocking then the sound of breaking glass.
The intruder was briefly inside the residence prior to leaving with a small safe belonging to the home owner. Inside the safe was the home owner’s cash savings along with two passports. The adult occupant who had been asleep in the residence remained in their bedroom for fear of the intruder. The occupant did observe out the window the intruder leave the home and the area west bound on 15th Street ‘B’ East, riding what was described as a yellow coloured bicycle. This party was also observed to be wearing a blue/gray coloured hoodie/sweater, with the hood up and had light coloured blue jeans on. This male also carried with him a small duffel bag that was black in colour with green or yellow chartreuse coloured lining around the edges.
