(Amaranth, ON.) -At approximately 12:30 pm March 22, 2014 Dufferin OPP were dispatched to personal injury collision involving 2 vehicles on Dufferin County 109 between the 5th and 6th line in Amaranth Township.
Preliminary Investigation reveals the vehicles were involved in a head on collision and six people involved are being transported to Headwaters hospital with injuries by Dufferin EMS. .
OPP Technical collision investigators are on scene. Police have closed County Road 109 in the area and it will remain closed for several hours.
Update: Dufferin OPP are now confirming a six year old male passenger has succumbed to his injuries and died. No other details are being released pending notification of next of kin. The five other persons involved remain in hospital being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Dufferin County Rd #109 will remain closed for next several hours while police complete their examination of the scene.
