(WARWICK TOWNSHIP, ON) Just after 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2014, Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a crash on Forest Road in the area of Hickory Creek Line.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a transport truck travelling north on Forest road struck a cyclist. The cyclist, an 18 year old male from Forest, was transported to hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries. The transport driver was not injured.
The West Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation team (TTCI) is on scene conducting an investigation.
A detour is currently in place and is expected to continue for a few more hours. All northbound traffic on Forest Road is being diverted at Birnam Line for eastbound and Aberarder Line for westbound. Forest Road (also known as Main Street) is closed to southbound traffic at Philrobden Drive. Transport trucks are being diverted around Forest at Highway 21 and Townsend Line.
