(LONDON, ON)- On Friday January 10, 2014 at 8:48 p.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), London Police Service (LPS), Middlesex-London Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and London Fire Department responded to a tractor trailer roll over on the westbound on ramp to HWY 401 at Highbury Avenue.
Police have learned that a transport truck left the roadway on the westbound on ramp to HWY 401 and entered the south ditch causing the vehicle to roll onto its side. As a result of the collision the trailer sustained damage, causing a small leak of the vehicle load, identified as formaldehyde. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local area hospital.
As a result of the collision police have closed the W/B 401Highbury off ramp and the W/B 401 on ramp from northbound Highbury Avenue, as crews work to clear the scene.
Police expect the roadway to be closed for the next six to eight hours.
The investigation is on-going.
