OPP DRUG WARRANT EXECUTED

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 21, 2014, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Wellington County OPP, Wellington County Property Crimes Unit, and West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on County Road 109 in Wellington North Township in Wellington County.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police revealed a large, indoor cannabis marihuana production location. Police seized cannabis marihuana plants and cannabis marihuana bud. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $3,632,000.00.

Police also seized offence related property that consisted of production equipment, a truck, and Canadian currency. The combined estimated value of the offence related property is $99,000.00.

David BENTLEY aged 58 of Grand Valley, Sonny BENTLEY aged 47 of Wellington North Twp., and Mathew BENTLEY aged 23 of Guelph, were arrested and each charged with Possession of Marihuana for the Purposes of Trafficking, Production of Marihuana contrary to the Drugs and Substances Act and Theft of Electricity contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

All three were held in custody for bail hearings on the above listed charges.
