OPP CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE MISCHIEF FIRES

(BRIGHTON, ON) On Thursday November 21, 2013 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended to two separate mischief fires in the Municipality of Brighton.

At approximately 9:40 am OPP attended with Brighton Fire Department (BFD) to a small fire consisting of coffee cups, cigarette packages, other garbage and plywood that was ignited in a wooded area on the south east corner of an Elizabeth Street property near the railroad tracks. BFD managed to extinguish the fire without further damage being caused to the wooded area.

OPP then attended to a barrel fire in the parking lot of a County Road 2 (Main Street) property at approximately 10:30 pm. The barrel was on cement blocks in the middle of the lot. BFD again attended and extinguished the fire.

Police are continuing to investigate these random fires.
