(WELLINGTON, ON) – On October 19, 2013 at 8:15pm, Prince Edward County officers of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a missing boater that had not returned after a fishing trip.
Gordon Alexander “Sandy†RUTHERFORD, 54 of Wellington, Prince Edward County left his residence to go fishing on West Lake at 3:30pm, October 19, 2013. When he didn’t return, family members reported him missing. His capsized boat was recovered.
The OPP Under Water Search and Recovery Unit continues to search the lake in an attempt to locate RUTHERFORD. The OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a land search along the shores with no success.
