OPP CHARGE SUSPENDED DRIVER

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On July 22, 2014, just after 7:30 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Highway 401 near Orford Road, when he observed an eastbound Mitsubishi car that was utilizing the emergency vehicle u-turn to change its direction of travel and proceed westbound.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and subsequent OPP traffic investigation revealed that the driver’s licence was suspended.

As a result, the driver, 55 year old Marcel JONES, from Highgate, has been charged with the following:

Drive While Under Suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

Cross Divided Highway No Proper Crossing Provided, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

He is scheduled to appear in a Chatham court on August 27 , 2014, to answer to the charges.
