(Embrun, ON) – On the 15th of March 2014 at 2:06 pm, Russell County OPP was called to 35 Marcel Street in Embrun. A male was barricaded inside the residence and the suspect was believed to be in possession of a firearm. He was threatening to commit suicide. This is the second incident of this type at this residence in one week.
Officers attended the area and created a perimeter around the suspect’s residence. Officers contacted the suspect and were able to convince the suspect to surrender. The situation was resolved in approximately one hour.
Pascal Dupuis, 33, of Embrun, Ontario, has been charged with Criminal Harassment contrary to Section 264(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. Further charges may be laid. No firearm was recovered since the arrest was completed. It will not be known if the suspect was in possession of a firearm until a search of the premises is completed.
