Officers Attend Several Halloween Parties

Waterloo Regional Police charged seven people with liquor-related offences after attending several Halloween parties in the University district of Waterloo throughout the weekend.

Officers attended one party on Friday, October 28 and two other parties on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Seven kegs of beer and one pail of jungle juice were seized by police. The parties were shut down after police arrived. Seven people were charged with various offences including, Unlawfully Keeping Liquor For Sale, Unlawfully Offering Liquor For Sale and Supplying Liquor to Persons Under 19. The Waterloo Regional Police Service is concerned about the safety of people attending these types of events since they encourage excessive alcohol consumption involving young people, including those under the legal drinking age.
