On the 12th of January 2014 at approximately 10PM officers of the Waterloo Regional Police responded to the A&W restaurant located at 443 Highland Rd W, Kitchener after receiving reports of a male inside the restaurant in possession of a handgun and causing a disturbance. Upon police arrival, the male was located and arrested. An investigation into this matter identified the handgun as an imitation firearm. A 41 year old Kitchener male was held in custody and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and resisting arrest. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
