(NOTTAWASAGA, ON)- The Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were steady over this past weekend with 105 calls for service.
Eleven of these calls were motor vehicle collisions, as a reminder Police would like to remind drivers to drive according to the weather conditions, reduce your speed and give yourself extra time to get to your destination.
Police conducted 16 RIDE programs over the weekend, stopping 1,650 vehicles throughout the Nottawasaga OPP area. Police charged one driver with Care and Control over 80mgs and impaired and one driver was issued a 3-day suspension for providing a sample in the warn range.
Proactive traffic enforcement led Police to locating a female driver who was driving under suspension on October 18, 2013 on the 14th Line of the Town of New Tecumseth. She was charged with Drive under Suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.
On October 19, 2013 at 9:20am, Police located a vehicle traveling in excess of 50 kilometers per hour on Concession Road 7 in Adjala-Tosorontio township, the 19 year old female driver was stopped by Nottawasaga OPP Officers and charged with Racing- Over 50 km/hour over the limit; her vehicle was towed and her licence suspended.
