NINACS – Careless Driving

(THESSALON, ON) – On May 6, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 approximately 1.5 kilometres east of the Highway 129 junction.

At approximately 7:33 a.m., a westbound vehicle came into contact with a guard rail, causing extensive damage to front end of the vehicle. The Huron Shores Fire Department was also on scene to assist police.

David NINACS, 20 years of age, from Pierrefonds, Quebec was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with:

Careless driving, contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act.

The driver did not suffer any injuries and his vehicle was towed.

ATV DRIVER CHARGED

(THESSALON, ON) – On May 7, 2016, at 3:17 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to traffic complaint involving an Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) on Stanley Street in the Town of Thessalon.

At 3:18 pm. police attended the area and observed the ORV and initiated a traffic stop.

As a result of the investigation, Tyler PARKER, 26 years of age, from Thessalon, Ontario, issued two provincial offence notices and charged with:

Drive Off-Road Vehicle-No Number Plate, contrary to section 3(1) of the Off-Road Vehicle Act; and

Drive Off-Road Vehicle-No Insurance, contrary to section 3(1) of the Off-Road Vehicle Act.
