(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Friday July 29th, 2011 shortly after 8 a.m., a Perth County OPP officer on patrol came upon a motor vehicle crash at the curve on Perth Road 135, south of Perth Line 55.
The officer observed a pickup truck in a field on the east side of Perth Road 135 and a second pickup truck stopped on the shoulder of the road. The officer spoke to the 57 year old male from Stratford who had been the driver of the pickup truck in the field and ascertained that he had sustained minor injuries. He did not require medical attention.
The investigation revealed that the pickup truck operated by the male driver had been in the north bound lane in the curve when the southbound pickup truck entered into the north bound lane and forced the north bound truck off the road. The south bound pickup truck struck the drivers side rear corner of the north bound pickup truck and caused it to leave the roadway.
The driver of the south bound pickup truck was spoken to by police and she had not sustained injuries but signs of impairment were detected. She was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment where she failed Intoxilyzer breath tests.
