Collision South Of Wildwood Sends Two To Hospital

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Friday July 29th, 2011, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Oxford Road 119.

Investigation revealed that an SUV (sport utility vehicle) was travelling west bound on Hwy. 7. A full sized work van was stopped at the stop sign on Oxford Road 119. The van proceeded to cross Hwy. 7 as the SUV was within the intersection. The front of the van struck the drivers side of the SUV, forcing the SUV into a deep ditch on the south west corner of the intersection.

The driver and passenger of the SUV, both from London were transported to the St.Marys Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. They were treated and released. The driver of the work van did not sustain any injuries.

The driver of the work van, a 34 year old male from Blenheim has been charged with start from stopped position – not in safety”. The Highway was able to remain open as police and emergency personnel investigated and cleaned up the debris.”
