Multiple Vehicle Rollovers

(Ottawa, ON) – On August 22, 2015, The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Ottawa Detachment responded to multiple motor vehicle collisions on Highway 7 and Highway 416. In each case, both vehicles left the roadway and rolled.

At approximately 11:42 am, officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 eastbound near the Dwyer Hill Road overpass. A Mazda 3 left the roadway and rolled into the centre ditch. The lone driver was ejected from the vehicle. Two off duty doctors provided medical assistance prior to police arrival.

The 40 year old male driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 12:35 pm, officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 416 southbound near the Fallowfield Road overpass. A pickup truck left the roadway and rolled into the west ditch. There was only one occupant in the pickup at the time.

The 46 year old male driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Lane reductions in place for approximately 1.5 hours on Highway 416.

Both drivers were charged with Careless driving.
