(PICTON, ON) – On August 22, 2015 at approx. 2 am officers from the Ontario Provincial Police Prince Edward Detachment received a call of a suspicious person and an alarm at the Hydro Station situated on County Road 5, in Picton Ontario. When the officers arrived they located the area of damage to the fence where the suspect entered the compound. The Officers proceeded in to the fenced in area and located the male suspect attempting to hide. A short foot pursuit commenced and the suspect was apprehended and arrested. The suspect was identified as David Van Ihinger 51 of Picton, Ontario. He was charged with several counts of break and enter, theft and mischief, and released on conditions. He is to appear in court October 15, 2015 to answer to the charges.
