On Friday November 27 shortly after 11:50pm Provincial Constable Chris Colton stopped a motor vehicle on Division St in Arnprior. The male driver had been drinking and failed a roadside alcohol screening test. Investigation also revealed his driver’s licence had been suspended. Following further breath tests at the detachment Claude LAFLEUR 44 of McNab Braeside Township was charged with driving over 80mgs. He was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on December 23. He was issued a summons for court on January 15 for driving while under suspension. His vehicle was impounded at the scene for 7 days.
On Sunday November 29 at approximately 2:10 pm a male driver was stopped at a Festive RIDE spot check on White Lake Road. The driver had been drinking and failed a roadside alcohol screening test. Further investigation revealed open alcohol and a quantity of marihuana in the vehicle. Following further breath tests at the detachment Braydon CARROLL 20 of Ottawa was charged with driving over 80mgs and possession of marihuana over 30 grams. He was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on December 23. Sergeant Derek McLeod investigated.
