(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police arrested two drivers yesterday, June 12, 2016, for impaired driving offences.
The first driver, Timothy DAWSON, 44 years of age of Peterborough, was arrested after a driving complaint and investigation that occurred on Highway 7 west of Omemee at approximately 4:30pm. He was subsequently charged with the following offences:
Driving While Ability Impaired by Drug and Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Dangerous Driving of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 249(1) of the CCC
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on July 28, 2016.
The second driver, Glenn WRIGHT, 56 years of age of Janetville, was arrested after a single vehicle collision and investigation that occurred on Janetville Road at approximately 7 pm yesterday. He was subsequently charged with the following offences:
Driving While Ability Impaired by Drug and Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Driving With More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on July 21, 2016.
