(CALEDON, ON) – On Thursday, March 31, 2016 officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a Break & Enter that had occurred at a residential property on Innis Lake Road.
During the course of the investigation, police received multiple tips from the public as to the identity of the suspects thanks to a You Tube video posted online of the surveillance footage from the Break & Enter. As a result, police were able to successfully arrest and charge the infamous males caught on camera.
Joel Rene MONGRAIN, 34, from Caledon has been charged with the following offences: Possession Break In Instruments, Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, 3 counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence, and Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams.
As a result of search warrants executed by Caledon OPP’s Street Crime Unit, the accused noted above has additionally been charged with: Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, 10 counts of Possession – credit card data, 9 counts of Possession of a credit card, 5 counts of Identity Documents, 3 counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order, and 2 counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm.
