(KAPUSKASING, ON) – On October 24, 2015, at 11:51 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment was advised of a missing person in the town of Kapuskasing.
Police conducted an extensive search with the assistance of the OPP North East Region Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine and a Crisis Negotiator. The vehicle being driven by the male was eventually located on a gravel road south west of Kapuskasing where he was found deceased. Foul play is not suspected.
The OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
