( North Kawartha Township, ON) – On Friday November 7, 2014 at approximately 7:11 p.m., members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to assist in locating two missing hunters in the area of Lasswade Road in North Kawartha Township.
Members from the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Central Region Canine Unit and a helicopter from Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) from Canadian Forces Base in Trenton were involved in the search. The hunters, both from the Toronto Region, were located safe and unharmed at 12:25 a.m.
Police remind hunters to stay in one place if separated from their hunting partners or that have become disoriented. In this case hunters were dressed for the weather and stayed in one place when they realized that they were lost.
