(GODERICH, ON) – A 25 year old is facing charges of Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol following a crash early this morning in Goderich. At 1:17 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Huron County EMS responded to a single motor vehicle collision that took place on Maitland Road South near Oxford Street.
Police learned the driver of a Toyota sedan lost control of his vehicle and rolled his car. The driver escaped the crash with minor injuries however officers determined the driver was displaying several signs that he was impaired by alcohol.
He was arrested for Impaired Driving and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both tests registered above the legal limit.
As a result, 25 year old Michael BORCHMAN from Goderich has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for September 8, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. His motor vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence has been automatically suspended for 90 days.
