Melissa Lee STEWART – Drunk Driving, Assault Police, Assault Paramedics

On Sunday the 4th of August 2013 at approximately 6:45 p.m. a 2004 blue Ford Freestar from Ontario was observed driving erratically on Concession Road 12 and County Road 9 in The Nation Township. The vehicle was then located in a ditch, where the two occupants attempted to push the vehicle out. The female driver was so upset with her boyfriend that she grabbed and pulled his hair.
Upon police arrival it was observed that paramedics and firefighters were attempting to assist the female driver, who refused any help.
After an interaction with the driver the officer had grounds to believe that she had blood alcohol content over the legal limit, which lead to her arrest.

While transporting the female driver, police saw her smash her head, while sitting in the back of the police cruiser, on the cage of the cruiser.
Police requested paramedics to attend to aid the female; paramedics were then assaulted by the female when they attempted to help her. The female was also continuously spitting at police and paramedics.

The female was transported to the Hawkesbury OPP Detachment.
