Matthew Armstrong – Drunk Driving – Fail to Stop For Stop Sign

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Just before midnight on December 16, 2011, a Huron County OPP officer observed a Cadillac fail to stop for a stop sign. The officer followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on William Street in Central Huron. Upon speaking to the male driver the officer observed him to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Exeter OPP detachment to meet with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician.

The driver refused to comply with the demand to provide samples of his breath.

As a result of the investigation, Matthew ARMSTRONG (30) of Bluewater, ON has been charged with Impaired Driving contrary to section 253(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada and Fail to Provide Breath Sample Upon Demand contrary to section 254(5) Criminal Code of Canada. He will answer to the charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 27, 2012. The motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days as per statute. LP11354238
