(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On May 16, 2016 at approximately 7:57 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver operating a vehicle westbound on Highway 26 in the Municipality of Meaford.
Police stopped the 2010 Jeep vehicle on Highway 26 near Grey Road 15 after witnessing it being driven in an erratic manner. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment where he was evaluated by a qualified Drug Recognition Evaluator.
49-year old Mark Douglas MATTHEWS of the Municipality of Meaford was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug.
He is scheduled to appear in court on June 2, 2016 in Owen Sound.
